A bank guarantee, like a letter of credit, is a promise from a bank or bank guarantee provider that it will assume liability for a particular debtor if its contractual obligations are not met. Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC)

A Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC) is a guarantee that is made by a bank or SBLC provider, on behalf of a client, which ensures payment will be made even if their client cannot fulfill the payment. It is a payment of last resort from the financial instruments provider, and ideally, is never meant to be used.

BG/SBLC Monetization is a financial process where an SBLC or a BG is used as collateral to obtain funding or a loan. It is a low cost method of trade finance that converts financial instruments into cash or cash equivalents. But the BG or SBLC must be issued by top rated banks.

An SBLC is a financial instrument that is issued by a bank and guarantees payment to a beneficiary if the party that obtained the SBLC fails to fulfill a specific obligation.
